Great book! Bad edition

This book itself deserves more than 5 stars. It is about the best collection of fairy tales that I have ever encountered -- much loved in my childhood and even more so now. However, I have given it only 3 stars because the edition I received in the mail is in despicable condition. The item on the website was listed as "Good" condition. The spine is missing, the back cover is torn, some pages have been scribbled on and the whole book smells musty and mildewed. I do not consider any of this to be "good." I still love the wonderful stories, such as "The Nose," some of which are not found in any other collections. I highly recommend *Fifty Famous Fairy Stories* to anyone who loves fairy tales or reads to their children or grandchildren. But, my enjoyment of the book was severely dampened by the awful condition of the volume when I was led to believe that the book I was buying would at least be intact.

Wonderful book!

Got this book from my parents when I was a wee lad 195?. I don't know how many times I read this book, and I still have it. The spine is gone, but it is still cherished. I read it to my grandkids now.
